    41000 - Fun with Me

The goals of Parent and Child Aquatics are to provide information that allows the parent to be able to help the child learn techniques to be comfortable and safe in and around the water, develop a readiness for learning to swim, and to learn safety fundamentals. Parent and child participate in several guided practice sessions that help children learn elementary skills, including water entry, bubble blowing, front kicking, back floating, underwater exploration and more. The class is taught in the rec pool. Children age 3 and above will be given a recommendation by the instructor at the conclusion of the classes for placement in the next session. Children must wear swim diapers to each class if not potty trained.

Participants who successfully pass the two final written exams, with a minimum grade of 80%, and the in-water final skills scenarios will receive an American Red Cross certificate for Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED (valid for 2 years). On the first day of class, participants will be required to pass the following prerequisites before being accepted into the class. Those that do not pass the pre-test will be issued a refund. Be sure to bring proper swim attire to every class.

    1. Be at least 15 years old on or before the final scheduled session of the course.
